1.- Can it be installed on top of the current stoneware?
Yes, (except for very specific exceptions) and it is one of the great advantages. There is no need to chop the old stoneware (you save debris and noise). We simply condition the surface of the glass for the installation and weld the sheet on top.
2.- How long does it take to carry out the work?
For a standard pool on the Costa del Sol (about 8×4 meters), we usually take between 3 and 5 days. In a week you are swimming!
3.- What happens if I have a leak in the skimmer or spotlights?

The installation of reinforced sheet requires the change of accessories appropriate to it, so we install skimmers, nozzles, bulbs, etc, all new to ensure 100% watertightness.
4.- Does the reinforced sheeting deteriorate under intense sunlight?.
This is the number one concern, and rightly so. In areas such as Marbella, Estepona or Seville, the sun hits hard for many months of the year.
The reality: Unlike old-fashioned PVC bags or pool paint, modern reinforced foil is designed specifically for extreme climates.
UV protection: Our films incorporate a UV protection shield. This prevents the material from becoming brittle or colors from fading.
5.- Does it have special or different care than stoneware?
Many people think that, being a "new" material, it will be more delicate, obviously it requires care without damaging the material, but in gresite pools, algae are embedded in the cement joints. In the reinforced sheet, being a smooth surface without pores, the algae hinder their adherence. Maintenance is much faster and simpler.
Cleaning of the waterline: It is the only point where we must be constant. As in any swimming pool, the grease of the sun creams and the lime can be marked, but it is enough with a soft sponge and a specific cleaner to make it look like new.
Compatibility: You can use traditional chlorine special for liner or saline chlorination. In fact, the reinforced sheet suffers much less than gresite with salt, since there are no joints to crumble.
6.- How long does a reinforced sheet really last?
This is the million dollar question. If the installation is professional (perfect welding of the overlaps and trims), the durability is amazing:
15 years watertightness warranty: As a general rule, we offer 10 years warranty but because we are certified installers by Renolit Alkorplan we can give a warranty extension to 15 years.
Real useful life: A quality reinforced sheet (1.5 mm or 2 mm thick) has an average useful life of 20 to 25 years.
Comparison: While a gresite pool usually needs a "grouting" (filling the joints) every 4 or 5 years to avoid leaks, the reinforced sheet remains intact for decades without major interventions.
Conclusion: Less work, more enjoyment
The reinforced sheet is not only the material that best resists the climate of the Costa del Sol, but it is also the one that requires less "slavery" during the year. Install, fill and forget about cracks and loose tiles for a long time.
